Today, instead of talking about a specific study, I wanted to tell you all about the Serre Lab at Brown University. If you have been reading for a while, you know that biomedical engineering, specifically within the nervous system, fascinates me. The Serre Lab is a lab that practices these methods at one of the top universities in neural engineering research, and has continuously been conducting ground-breaking studies within the field. For example, it has created spinal interfaces which transfer neural information from above a neural lesion to areas below it, and developed information-processing mechanisms which mimic visual reasoning and machine learning idealizations of crucial neural processes.
Because of labs like Serre, this new and emerging field is being taken to higher levels
and neuroscience research will forever be changed. If you want to learn more about the Serre labs work, click here!
Namaste,
Madeleine
